Destinations
Destinations in 2024 include Russell Group and top research-led universities including: Cambridge, Bristol, Bath, Southampton, Exeter and Loughborough. In the creative field we have students going on to develop their talents in dance, art and photography attending some of the top art schools and conservatoires.
Degree apprenticeships are a key element of the new destinations landscape, and these are now offered via UCAS alongside university applications. Some of our top-achieving students have taken up apprenticeships with prestigious companies including BP, Vodafone and Pepsico.
The journey begins in Year 12, as students begin to explore possible destinations. All students attend the Destinations Expo hosted by Newbury College and we also invite all students to attend UCAS events at universities such as Bath, Winchester and Surrey.
We have a mentoring programme for students wishing to apply for Oxbridge, Russell Group universities and for Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary courses. We also work in collaboration with the West Berkshire Education Business Partnership and professional advisors to offer a broad range of experiences and exposure to a variety of careers. All Year 12 students take part in work experience at the end of the academic year.
