Why choose History?

History helps you judge competing claims, test the authenticity of information and communicate a well-supported interpretation. These skills matter in a world shaped by social media, misinformation and contested views.

What you will study

The Tudors, 1485–1603
A breadth study of political, religious, economic and social change.
Germany, 1918–1945
A depth study of Weimar Germany, Nazism and the experiences of German people.
Tsarist Russia, 1825–1917
An independently researched historical investigation covering approximately 100 years.

Entry requirements

GCSE History
Grade 6 or above.

Students without GCSE History may be considered individually at interview and should have grades 6 or above in both GCSE English Language and English Literature.
