Why choose Geography?

Geography connects science, technology, social science and the arts. It develops research, data analysis, problem solving and the ability to understand relationships between people, places and environmental systems.

What you will study

Physical geography
Tectonic hazards, landscape systems, water insecurity, the carbon cycle and energy security.
Human geography
Regenerating places, globalisation, superpowers, health, human rights and intervention.
Synoptic and independent enquiry
Players, attitudes, actions, futures and uncertainties, plus an independent investigation.

Entry requirements

GCSE Geography
Grade 5 or above. Staff will consider the individual merits of students interested in the course.

Students complete at least four days of fieldwork. The source PDF identifies a three-day Swanage residential and a one-day Regenerating Places visit, with associated costs.
