Why choose the EPQ?

The EPQ develops independent research, project management and presentation skills that are highly valuable for undergraduate study. Assessment focuses on the process as well as the final outcome.

What you will study

Project planning
Define a question, plan the work and manage time and resources.
Research and development
Find, evaluate and use sources to develop a dissertation, report, artefact, performance or design.
Presentation and reflection
Present your project, evaluate the process and reflect on decisions and learning.

Entry requirements

The EPQ is offered to students in Year 12 and is intended as an additional fourth choice alongside A Levels.

Students are expected to meet their supervisor weekly and engage with the taught skills programme.

Projects are assessed internally, then submitted to AQA for moderation and final grading.
