Why choose Economics?

Economics helps you understand the UK economy, government policy and the forces shaping national and international events. It develops data interpretation, analytical writing, numeracy and informed debate.

What you will study

Markets and market failure
How markets work, why they fail and how governments intervene.
The UK economy and business
Economic performance, policy, business growth, competition and labour markets.
The global economy
Trade, inequality, development, public finances and the financial sector.

Entry requirements

Standard PH6 entry requirements apply.

Mathematics and English
Grade 6 or above is preferred.

Core Maths is recommended to support the mathematical elements of the course.
