Why choose Fine Art?

Fine Art gives you the freedom to explore your creative potential through paint, mixed media, sculpture, printmaking and photography. You will learn to organise, select and communicate ideas visually, while developing critical analysis and written contextual understanding.

What you will study

Materials and processes
Traditional and new media, including painting, sculpture, printmaking, mixed media and photography.
Creative development
Research, experimentation and refinement of increasingly personal lines of enquiry.
Critical and contextual study
Visual communication, critical analysis, written concepts and contextual knowledge.

Entry requirements

Standard PH6 entry requirements: at least five GCSEs at grades 9–5.

GCSE Art & Design
Grade 5 or above is desirable. Applicants are considered individually and should bring a small portfolio to interview.

How you will be assessed

Externally Set Assignment Preparatory period followed by 15 hours of supervised work 40%

Successful students can progress to Art and Design foundation courses, specialist degrees and creative careers in the UK or internationally.
