James King, Headteacher

Job Role
James King was appointed Headteacher of Park House School in 2022. He completed his undergraduate degree at Brunel University in 2000 before going on to achieve a PGCE in Physical Education at the University of Exeter. Before joining Park House, Mr King taught in grammar schools in Buckinghamshire and Gloucestershire, before joining Beaufort School (later Holmleigh Park), where he progressed through middle leadership and senior roles, including Assistant and Deputy Headteacher.
In each of his roles, Mr King has had a transformational impact on behaviour systems and student achievement. As Deputy Headteacher at Holmleigh Park, he led the school through a period of rapid improvement, culminating in it becoming the 9th most improved school nationally for progress. Since taking up headship at Park House, Mr King has continued to drive improvement, leading the school to exceptional outcomes in 2023 and 2024, and securing an Outstanding Quality of Education judgement from Ofsted in May 2025.
He is a firm believer in the power of high expectations, excellent behaviour, and high-quality teaching. His vision is for Park House to be the best school in the country – one that combines academic excellence with character development. A keen sportsman, Mr King is passionate about competition, teamwork, and fostering an ambitious culture driven by continuous improvement.
Jack Markey, Deputy Headteacher

Job Role
Jack completed his undergraduate degree in Liverpool before relocating to Bristol in 2016, where he completed a PGCE in Mathematics. He joined Park House in 2022, bringing with him hands-on experience from Holmleigh Park High School in Gloucester, where he was part of a remarkable turnaround that saw the school ranked among the top 10 most improved in the country in 2022.
At Park House, Jack oversees all aspects of Teaching and Learning, Curriculum, and Year 11 outcomes—work that recently contributed to an Outstanding judgement from Ofsted for the Quality of Education. His goal is simple: to ensure that students achieve the very best outcomes possible, opening doors to future opportunities and long-term success.
Gary Bale, Associate Deputy Headteacher

Job Role
Gary Bale studied Physical Education and Teaching (QTS) at the University of Chichester, graduating with a BA (Hons). Since entering the teaching profession in 2010, he has gained a wealth of experience across both curriculum and pastoral roles. Gary has held a variety of leadership positions, including Head of PE, Head of Year, and Assistant Headteacher, where he has demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting the academic and personal development of all students.
Gary joined Park House in 2023 as an Assistant Headteacher. In this role, he works collaboratively across the school’s pastoral systems to foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment. He supports the safeguarding, behaviour, and attendance teams, contributes to the school’s character and PSHE programme, and helps young people gain the confidence, values, and life skills they need to become well-rounded individuals. He believes that positive relationships, high expectations, and personal growth are essential for student success.
Nicholle Lennon, Assistant Headteacher/SENDCo

Politics BA (Hons), PGCE, NASENCo Award
Job Role
Nicholle Lennon has a BA (Hons) in Politics at The University of Warwick and completed her PGCE and NASENCo qualifications at UCL’s Institute of Education. She joined Park House in 2023, initially as Head of Sixth Form, where she oversaw the transformation of ‘PH6’ into the top Post-16 destination in Newbury, achieving the best A-level results in West Berkshire in 2024. The sixth form has continued to flourish, and Ms Lennon has since taken on a new role focusing on inclusion and SEND provision.
Prior to Park House, Ms Lennon worked in schools in central London and taught in an international school in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. She also worked at Westminster for an MP and as a management consultant in local government. She believes education is key to equity for all students and is passionate about shaping positive futures, regardless of background or need.
Shauni Peeters, Assistant Headteacher
Qualifications
Bachelor of Education: Secondary Education with QTS (Physical Education and Fitness)
Job Role
Mrs Peeters completed her undergraduate studies in Physical Education with QTS in 2013, specialising in Fitness at University Colleges Leuven-Limburg, Belgium, with a study abroad programme at the University of Brighton. A former Artistic Gymnast, she trained with the Belgian Olympic team with the hopes of competing in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and continues to have a passion for Dance and Cheerleading.
She has worked in roles such as Teacher of PE, Teacher of Geography, Head of Year, Head of Key Stage, and Head of Humanities before becoming Assistant Headteacher of Culture and Ethos at Park House. In this role, she promotes a positive school culture that supports high standards of behaviour, attendance, and student wellbeing, embedding school values into daily routines while working closely with the SENDCo and Safeguarding team.
Jo Porter, Assistant Headteacher

Marine and Freshwater Biology BSc (Hons), PGCE in Secondary Science (Biology)
Job Role
Miss Porter studied Marine and Freshwater Biology at the University of Hull, graduating with honours before completing her PGCE in Secondary Science (Biology). Since beginning her career in 2006, she has held leadership roles such as Head of Science, Head of House, and ITT Coordinator.
At Park House, she is Assistant Headteacher with strategic responsibility for curriculum planning, assessment, timetabling, and key operational systems. She leads the Year 9 options process, oversees parents’ evenings, and runs achievement assemblies. She is also the SLT link for Year 10 and Performing Arts, while continuing to teach Science. Miss Porter believes in clear systems, supportive relationships, and high standards to enable all pupils to thrive.
Mary Tebble, Associate Assistant Headteacher

Job Role
Mary Tebble holds a degree in Business from Brunel University. She began her career in marketing at Vodapage, later working at PageOne, Cable & Wireless, and Vodafone before transitioning into education through the Graduate Teacher Programme with West Berkshire. She taught Business Studies at Edgbarrow School, then led the Business faculty at Trinity School in Newbury for eight years.
In 2024, Mary joined Park House as Associate Assistant Headteacher, leading on Personal Development. She oversees PSHE and careers provision, helping students develop essential skills and aspirations for the future.
Cameron Wicks, Associate Assistant Headteacher

History & International Relations BA (Hons), PGCE Secondary History
Job Role
Cameron Wicks graduated in History and International Relations from Loughborough University in 2016 and completed a Secondary PGCE in History at the University of Winchester in 2019. He has taught History across schools in Berkshire, Hampshire, and Oxfordshire, joining Park House in 2022 as Head of History. His leadership transformed the department into one of the school’s top performers and most popular choices at GCSE and A-level.
In January 2025, Cameron was appointed Assistant Headteacher and Head of Sixth Form, overseeing daily operations, student progress, recruitment, and the UCAS process. Under his leadership, the Sixth Form was rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in May 2025.
Harry Marshall, Associate Assistant Headteacher

Media and Cultural Studies BA (Hons)
Job Role
Harry Marshall studied Media and Cultural Studies at the University of Worcester before completing teacher training at the University of Reading in 2010. A former Park House student himself, he returned as a teacher more than 15 years ago.
He built Media Studies into one of the school’s most successful subjects and went on to lead the House system. Now Associate Assistant Headteacher for Personal Development, he leads on trips, extracurricular activities, assemblies, and school events, while also overseeing the Enterprise Faculty (Media, Computer Science, Health & Social Care, Business). He is also SLT link for Year 9.
