PSHE Police Assemblies
Thames Valley Police did a series of Assemblies across Year 7, 8 and 9. The purpose was to inform students about the consequences of inappropriate touching and getting into trouble with the police.
PC Emery did an introduction about his career as a police officer as we have few students who want to join the police.
He then went on to explain the importance of consent and how banter can get out of hand and cause you to say and do the wrong thing, both physically and on mobile phones. He explained that it is not right to inappropriately touch anyone and will get you into trouble. He mentioned the use of mobile phones in police investigations and that the police will confiscate them and not give them back for a year. He also talked about the age you can get arrested, what the cell looks like, how you can be searched.
It was informative and thought provoking and was an important message for our young people at Park House.
