Our Year 12 students had the exciting opportunity to visit Sky Academy Studios, where they participated in an hands-on media production experience. The aim of the trip was to enhance students’ understanding of media, business and communications while developing essential skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, and creative thinking.

Students were divided into small production teams and assigned different roles including scriptwriter, director, camera operator, presenter, and editor. Each group planned, scripted, filmed, and edited a short news segment using industry-standard equipment and professional editing software. They explored every stage of the production process—from brainstorming ideas and storyboarding, to filming in front of green screens and editing footage to create a polished final product with some interesting choices of outfits for the presenters. Overall a really beneficial experience looking at the functionality of major corporation.
