Park House School

Year 6 Transition Day

On Monday 30th June 2025, Park House School proudly welcomed 155 Year 6 pupils for an exciting and successful Transition Day, giving them their first real taste of life as a secondary school student.

From the moment they arrived at our main gates, the day was carefully designed to ensure a smooth and engaging introduction to our school community. The morning began with a welcome assembly in the Main Hall led by Mr King and Mrs Peeters, where students were introduced to our school values: Work Hard, Be Kind, Take Responsibility.

Pupils were then taken on a guided tour of the school, including key areas such as the canteen, library, student services, and our impressive sports facilities, to help ease first-day nerves and build confidence.

Throughout the day, students participated in a full timetable of lessons and enrichment activities, mirroring the structure of a regular school day. Lessons included PE, English, Science, D&T, Art, Geography and History.

At break time, refreshments were provided on the croquet lawn, and lunchtime offered pupils a chance to eat in our canteen and enjoy the grounds with their new peers. The sense of excitement, curiosity, and community was evident throughout.

The day concluded with a celebration assembly where each child received a welcome gift including a Park House School water bottle and stationery. Feedback from pupils, parents, and staff has been overwhelmingly positive. We are incredibly excited to welcome this fantastic cohort to Park House in September.
