Park House School

Mental Health Awareness Week

Parkhouse School actively celebrated Mental Health Awareness Week (May 12th-18th) with a focus on the power of community for wellbeing. Students attended an assembly that highlighted the significance of a diverse and inclusive community, emphasizing openness, connection, and mutual respect as essential for growth, aligning with our values of kindness and responsibility.

As a follow-up, students created a meaningful 'community chain' during tutor time, each link containing a personal message about the school's positive impact on their mental health. Senior student council lead, Jack North, photographed the chain, which Year 7 students then arranged creatively around the school. The physical chain will be displayed in the library this week, with the photograph becoming a permanent feature in the library's mental wellbeing section.

I want to express my sincere thanks to all the staff and students who made this week special. We also greatly appreciate Felicity Woods for leading a valuable Guided Meditation session for staff on Thursday, May 15th, something we hope to offer regularly.
