Closure of car park and main entrance

Further update regarding yesterday's fallen tree (Wednesday 11 December 4pm):

The main car park will remain closed for the remainder of today, with all evening lets cancelled.
The main car park will be open tomorrow, Thursday 12 December, with limited parking available. However, some areas will be coned off and inaccessible, whilst the remaining tree debris is cleared.

Newbury Rugby Club continue to offer us the use of their car park. We are very grateful to them for their support at this time.
Unfortunately, telephone lines will continue to be down for at least the duration of tomorrow. The school can continue to be contacted by email and on the emergency temporary mobile number emailed to parents yesterday.

Update 9am Wednesday 11 December:

The main school car park remains closed whilst the tree surgeons complete their work. Anybody wishing to visit the school will, unfortunately, need to park off-site and ring the pedestrian entrance bell, where they will be admitted on foot and can access Reception via the pathway.

Many thanks for your co-operation in this matter.

Dear Parents / Carers

As you will already be aware, a large section of a tree fell in the car park due to high winds this afternoon. To reiterate, no one was injured as a result.

It is however, necessary to shut the main car park tomorrow morning and until further notice to enable the tree surgeons to assess and make safe the trees in that area.

A BT Engineer will also be on site tomorrow to re-establish our telephone lines, which remain down at this time.

There will be no student access through the main gate tomorrow morning and until further notice. Instead, students should access the school site via the Monks Lane gate.

As you will appreciate, everyone’s personal safety is our absolute priority in these circumstances.

Best wishes
