GCSE Results 2016

Park House is today celebrating its best ever GCSE results, which follow the school’s identification earlier this year by the Minister of State for Education as one of the country’s top 100 non-selective state schools for sustained improvement in GCSE since 2013.

We are thrilled by this year’s outstanding GCSE results, which represent the best achieved in the school’s history and most importantly continue the trend of year on year improvement recently recognised by the Minister of State for Education as amongst the very best in the country. This year’s further, and very significant improvement, can only strengthen this wonderful position.

This superb collective achievement is the sum of every individual’s commitment and progress. This fantastic year group thoroughly deserve their success, which reflects the hard work and positive relationships of students and staff working closely together. We are absolutely delighted for all of our students and are extremely proud of them. Their collective progress has been exceptional and there are so many truly wonderful individual achievements to celebrate.

Using the ‘traditional’ benchmark measure 65.1% of students achieved five or more GCSEs at A*-C including English and Maths, a further 6% improvement on 2015. The new ‘Progress 8’ measure, used for the first time this year, is 0.16, reflecting students’ excellent value-added progress.

Exceptional individual results include:

  • Luke Barlow who achieved who achieved 9A*s and 5As
  • Ellie Woodley who achieved 6A*s and 6As
  • Alice Parker who achieved 6A*s and 3As
  • Megan Somerville who achieved 3A*s and 9As
    Will Ceney
who achieved 5A*s and 8 As
