27 April 2020 Update

Dear Parents, Carers and Students

I hope you had as good a weekend as possible - the weather was certainly glorious, wasn’t it - and that you and all family and friends remain safe and well.

In the absence of any major Department for Education or Local Authority updates, my first communication of the week is really by way of reminders as follows:

  • Thank you to all those who have already responded to our Virtual Curriculum feedback survey.  Apologies for the lack of clarity on one of the questions. This has now been rectified. It would be great to have as many of these as possible returned by Wednesday 29 April so that we can begin our review. The parent feedback questionnaire can be found here>>>

Students should go to their RM Unify landing page. Once logged in, you will see a tile called ‘Student Virtual Curriculum Survey April 2020’. Thank you once again for sharing your views; we appreciate your support in doing so

  • I am also grateful to all parents who have sent me extended comments on the Virtual Curriculum. I will endeavour to reply to these on an individual basis during the course of the week and once we have had the opportunity to collate all other feedback from the survey
  • Thanks to Mr Marshall and the PE Department, the 2.6 Challenge for the Youth Sport Trust will go live today as the focus of this week’s In-House Challenge. Please see attached. Really looking forward to seeing your physical - and other - creativity come to the fore!
  • All Sixth Form students should have received a fantastic PH6 Newsletter from Mr Hawkins over the weekend
  • The PHSA have made the decision to postpone the Grand Draw, which was scheduled to take place on 21 May 2020. It is anticipated that the draw will take place later in the year, and a new date will be announced once the Government advises that schools can return. In the meantime, please DO NOTthrow away your raffle tickets. Please keep hold of them for the future date

Best wishes

Derek Peaple
