Head of Music

We are looking to appoint an able and enthusiastic Music specialist. The successful candidate must be committed to the development of high quality teaching strategies and high standards of achievement. This position would suit either an existing Head of Music or an ambitious and successful Teacher of Music who is keen to develop their leadership potential.

Learning Supervisor (Closing Date: 4 May 2018)

Hours: 37 hours per week - Term-time only

Salary: Grade D: £17,972 - £19,819 FTE

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to work as part of the support team driving our outstanding provision for young people in the local area. 

Required to supervise lessons where a teacher is absent from school. Duties include supervision of lessons where work has been set; exam invigilation; accompanying staff on school trips and supporting subject departments with administrative tasks such as photocopying.

Administrative Assistant – Student Services (Closing Date: 4 May 2018)

Hours: 37 hours per week - Term-time only (plus 5 days and all INSET days)

Salary: Grade B: £16,495 - £17,007 FTE

Our administration team are certainly kept busy. If you would like to join this hard working and supportive team you will need to have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office software and experience of Capita SIMS software would also be an advantage.

Your main responsibilities will include general office duties and being in daily contact with staff, students and parents this role requires excellent communication skills.

Part-time Receptionists (Closing Date: 4 May 2018)

Term-time only (plus 5 days and all INSET days).

Salary: Grade C: £16,863 - £17,972 FTE

Full-time hours considered – 8.00am to 4.30pm (4.00pm Friday).

As the first point of contact for the school we are looking for professional and personable individuals with excellent customer service and good IT skills to provide reception and general administrative support. You should have experience of working within a busy reception and have good numerical skills to support various administrative tasks, including petty cash. 

You will need to be organised and be able to multi-task, work flexibly and have a ‘can-do’ approach as no two days are the same. A sound education to GCSE level (or equivalent) is also required.

Minibus Drivers - £8.74 per hour

Park House School is seeking Minibus Drivers with good local knowledge and the ability to interact with pupils and parents.

Shifts available Monday to Friday:

7.00am to 8.30am

3.25pm to 5.00pm

You must be over 21 with a clean driving license and three years of driving experience.

The successful candidates will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check and will be required to attend in house Safeguarding training.

Working within the community to deliver students to school on time

Brian joined Park House School back in 2011 utilising his qualified rugby coaching skills helping as a referee during school games, however today he is part of a fleet of minibus drivers that collect students from the outer areas.

Brian Minibus Driver

As a past HGV driver for the Police force and holding a PSV licence, Brian has a wealth of experience he can apply on a day to day basis providing a good service for the Park House School students.  As he says “seeing the children arrive a school on time and happy” is a satisfying aspects of his role as a minibus driver. 

The flexibility of his role at Park House School at the beginning and end of the school day enables Brian to uphold his other job as an estate manager, alongside being a School Governor, Scouts Leader and running the Duke of Edinburgh scheme at Park House. Brian is a core member of the local community who can share his experience in all aspects of his life with students as he builds a strong rapport where both trust and respect have been built. Brian is an enthusiastic member of the team.

 

Tony recently joined the Home School Transport Team at Park House School providing his mini bus driver services to the school community on a daily basis.

Tony Minibus Driver

Having worked at another local school and for Newbury Buses, his experience coupled with his MIDAS (Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme) membership for safer operation of minibuses and driving standards, Tony has settled in well and enjoys driving ‘CoCo’ (yes the minibuses all have a name!) and building a good rapport with the students.

Tony retired from the Royal Mail and now finds the hours (7–8:30am and 3:25 to 4:30pm) enable him to start the day early leaving plenty of time around these hours to pack in his hobbies of football, music and theatre.

Tony finds he role rewarding, “getting students to school on time” and complete as it enables start the day early and with purpose thus packing in much to fulfil both his role at Park House School and his hobbies.
