Health & Safety Governor Vacancy

Park House currently has a vacancy for a Health & Safety Co-opted Governor and would like to invite anyone with an interest to put their name forward.

Our Governing Body has three core functions:

  • Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic vision
  • Holding the headteacher to account for the education performance of the school and its students and the performance management of the staff
  • Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent

The governing body meets six times a year; we also have sub-committees which focus on specific areas. Governors are expected to be a member of at least one sub-committee. For more information about this role please feel free to email the Chair of Governors at chair@parkhouseschool.org

As Governors, we regularly check we have the right skills to do the job and we would particularly welcome interest from people with skills and experience in Health and Safety, not necessarily in an educational setting. We provide induction training and Governor Skills training free of charge.  The term of office for all Governors is four years but you can resign at any time.  Every School Governor must undertake a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.

If you wish to apply as a Co-opted Governor please do the following:

  1. Complete the application form including a brief statement about yourself and your skills and experience;
  2. Return the form to the school, clearly addressed to The Returning Officer by the stated closing date and time, or email to govclerk@parkhouseschool.org
