The values of connecting...

Shinagawa Skype Session Park House

How exciting! How very special.

Our developing international partnership with Shinagawa-gakuen School in the outskirts of Tokyo took another great step forward on Friday morning with the second of what will now be our now regularly scheduled Skype conversations between our wonderful students, sharing the values and spirit of our respective schools. The Shinagawa students speaking in English, our’s in Japanese.

Respect and friendship lie at the heart of both. The tone was set by the amazing gifts we received from students at Shinagawa over the summer...

Shochumimai (traditional greeting cards) and Wagashi (traditional sweets) from the School's Council for International Friendship...

How wonderful!

And how especially wonderful that this student-to-student exchange has now become a reality following our initial, long-term vision for an Olympic and Paralympic Values themed link connecting young people from the experience of London 2012 trough to Tokyo 2020, and beyond.

We now look forward to our next Skype on 8 December. For us, this means going back to where all this values-themed international learning first started with reflections on the experience of London 2012; for the students from Shinagawa, it will be all about sharing the excitement of the build up to Tokyo 2020.

The video produced by our own Tokyo 2020 Ambassadors and sent over earlier this year sets the scene nicely...
