A WAP BAMBALOO BOP A WAP BAM BOOM! And why it matters!

The all staff email came through at 15:19 on Thursday, precisely eleven minutes before the start of our weekly Senior Leadership Team Meeting...

Dear all,

Grease rehearsals are going really well and today, after school, we plan to give our ensemble cast a little performance of two of our smaller numbers.

At approximately ?4pm, in the hall, our Pink Ladies , led by Erin Purton will perform “Freddie My Love” and Charlie Holland will perform his duet of “Mooning” with Phoebe Just.

This is a really informal sharing of work, but if anyone is in the vicinity of the hall ?around 4pm and fancies popping in to see how we’re getting on, please do!

It was, as the saying goes, a ‘no brainer’.

Discussion of strategic direction, improvement plans and KPIs temporarily suspended as the ‘magnificent seven’ Assistant Headteachers (plus me) who comprise the school’s Senior Leadership Team decamped to the Hall for the pleasure and privilege of experiencing this...

Wonderful, wonderful creative talent being developing in the context of this...

And against a backdrop of these....

Olympic Paintings

Just some of the paintings from our London 2012 Gallery, painted back in that glorious Olympic and Paralympic Summer by our Year 9s That still adorn the site.

All in all, a very special reminder of what’s really important in schools and why guaranteeing creative opportunities for young people to grow, develop and express themselves at a time when all the league table accountability pressures act as a disincentive to do so is crucial to our vision.

The best item on a SLT agenda I can remember...
